Cabinet Assembler

Responsibilities

  • Assemble cabinet components including boxes, frames, doors, and drawers according to shop drawings and production specifications.
  • Use hand and power tools (nail guns, drills, clamps, etc.) to complete assemblies accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all parts are square, flush, and meet quality standards.
  • Apply adhesives and fasteners properly during the assembly process.
  • Identify and report defective parts or improper assembly processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company safety protocols.
  • Assist with staging assembled products for finishing or shipping departments.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production timelines and daily goals.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in using common woodworking tools and fasteners.
  • Ability to read and follow shop drawings, cut sheets, and assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience assembling custom or production cabinets.
  • Familiarity with cabinetmaking joinery techniques (dado, dowel, pocket screw, etc.).
  • Knowledge of material types such as plywood, MDF, and hardwoods.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing or assembly line environment.

Soft Skills

  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of cabinet assembly or woodworking experience preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours based on production needs.
